How to Install Internet Explorer on Windows 11

In my testing, I found that setting a specific site to only allow IE mode for one month may not be the best approach if you anticipate needing a site in IE mode for an extended period. It's essential to note that you need to include both the address and domain when allowing sites in IE mode.

If you choose to enable IE mode, you'll need to restart your browser. Alternatively, you can add specific web pages to the Internet Explorer mode list. This doesn't mean that IE mode will be the default; it's just the default setting in Edge.

When you enable IE mode, you'll have the option to reload a site in Internet Explorer mode from the Settings and more menu or by right-clicking on the tab and selecting Open link in new Internet Explorer mode tab. The Default setting presents an option to open Edge in IE mode if you've opened a page in that mode before.

A helpful panel in Edge's Settings page explains how to get legacy IE sites working in Edge. Since this section is mostly about making Edge your default browser, it may not be the most obvious place for enabling IE mode; however, that's where you need to go.
